Spring: From April 24 to May 9, 201

Flower and Greenery Fair

Watch as Heijo Palace is recreated with flowers, greenery, and ancient performing arts!

Heijo Palace will be reproduced in all its splendor and natural beauty as every corner of the site is decorated with flowers and greenery.
Visitors will enjoy a variety of events featuring ancient performing arts arranged in a contemporary style, including song and dance performances on the Mahoroba Stage, parades, and musicals.

Summer: From August 20 to August 27, 2010

Light and Candle Fair

See Heijo Palace transformed into a fantastic nighttime spectacle!

The entire Heijo Palace Site will be lit with a combination of traditional candles and cutting-edge LED technology under the theme “Heijo Palace: A Corridor of Light.”
The event will also feature a nighttime parade along with performances of ancient court music on traditional instruments.
Light, shadow, and sound will combine to create a synergistic effect, making visitors feel as if they had been transported far back in time.

Fall: From October 9 to November 7, 2010

Heijo-kyo Fair

Watch as the world gathers for a special performance!

This fair will feature a variety of special stage shows with the theme of cultural exchange, including live performances by world-famous artists and artists with connections to Nara as well as folk art from the countries of East Asia and the Silk Road.
Performers will also recreate the ancient ceremonies and rituals of the Nara period in a way that enables visitors to enjoy them today.
The Heijo-kyo Fair finale will consist of a spectacular carnival.
